Samira was brought up in the Indian Defense Services atmosphere, which gave her the opportunity to travel extensively within India and experience different cultures. Thereby, giving her wide exposure and knowledge about people of different states / cities. This has helped her enormously to connect with people easily. She has also travelled to many International countries for work and has had the opportunity to work with several leaders from the multi cultural backgrounds in US & Europe.
A Science Graduate, a qualified Textile Designer and a proud alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIMK), she has more than 20 years of managerial & leadership experience in the corporate world.
She began her career as a Merchandiser in a leading international garment-buying house, after completing her Diploma in Textile Designing from the Indian Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi. She then worked for many labels of world fame such as: Wal-Mart, J C Penny, Gap, Liz Claiborne and several other labels & designers in US, France and Scandinavian countries. Here she acquired knowledge on all aspects of garment merchandising & global fashion / trends.
Her business experience was gained from working in different industries like Garment Export-Import, Hospitality, Insurance and Real Estate. Her sales career started from Goa, where she worked with an International Hospitality group “the Royal Resorts” and went through various training programs on sales, Marketing & CRM etc., under the British experts & went on to become the “Top Sales Closer” for three consecutive years at their 5 * Resort. She continued to be a successful manager and a leader at ING Bangalore & Regus Bangalore.
For the last 10 years Samira has served in two large International Real Estate firms (Colliers International & Tishman Speyer) as a Director and Head Sales, Marketing & CRM, heading their Sales & Marketing functions in India. Other than proven business track record in both roles she was also instrumental in recruiting, training, & mentoring many young professionals in various areas of Real Estate like, Sales, Marketing, Leasing, Customer Relationship Management, Negotiation, Strategy & New Business Development etc. For her contribution to the Real Estate Industry, she was endowed with the Excellence Award “FEMALE REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR 2012-2013 – SOUTH” by the prestigious Realty Plus group, the jury comprised of the top Real Estate leaders and top private equity leaders from all over India.
Samira’s continued curiosity, interest and passion for working with people over the years has compelled her to re-align her career interests and therefore she has chosen to become an “Image consultant”, where she will get the opportunity to make a positive difference to people’s lives.
Samira is a qualified Image Consultant trained by the Image Consulting Business Institute as per the curriculum of Judith Rasband, who is the World’s first Certified Image Master. Samira is also the founder of “Auraa Image Management & Consulting” launched in 2013. Having been a part of a multicultural and highly competitive work environment, Samira understands the dynamics of international business and the necessity of projecting the appropriate professional image in order to succeed. She places equal emphasis on personal and social image, which complements one’s professional image.
